THE ATACAMA HAS STRETCHES WHERE RAIN HAS NEVER BEEN RECORDED
Atacama Desert and the North

In the barren north, the vast Atacama Desert, parts of which have never seen rain, dominates. From the base of San Pedro de Atacama, many of the region’s highlights are within easy striking distance - salt flats, geysers, sand dunes, lagoons and snow-capped mountains. In the far north of the country, Lauca National Park lies at the heart of the Chilean Altiplano.
