During November to March, combine a visit to the Ngorongoro Crater with a stay in a small mobile tented came in the southern Serengeti, home of the wildebeest migration during the calving season, followed by a stay at a camp built atop a rock kopje close to the Mara River in the northern Serengeti at a time when there are few human visits but plenty of resident game.

DAY 1

You will be met by your private guide on arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport and drive you to Plantation Lodge in the Ngorongoro Highlands. The lodge is surrounded by coffee farms and forests and the beautiful garden is a great place to relax after a long flight before you begin your safari proper.

DAY 2

An early departure to make the best of the day in the Ngorongoro Crater. One of Tanzania's most famous landmarks, the crater is known for both its wonderful scenery and also the varied wildlife that thrives inside. Spend the morning game driving with your guide, and enjoy a picnic lunch on the Crater floor. In the afternoon you will return to Plantation Lodge in good time to relax before sundowners and dinner.

DAY 3-4

You will make your way to southern Serengeti, with a picnic lunch en route at the Oldupai Gorge, the site of the famous archaeological excavations of Louis and Mary Leakey and where they found some of the earliest hominid fossil remains. You will stay at the Serengeti Safari Camp, a mobile tented camp on the edge of the Ndutu woodlands. The camp specializes in bring guests as close to the migration as possible.

DAY 5-7

You will take a light aircraft flight to Kogatende in the northern Serengeti. Too often ignored, this area is a gem in the green season. Lamai Serengeti is a gorgeous 12-room camp tucked among the rocks with panoramic views of the surrounding plains, just a few miles from the Mara River. Settle into camp and spend the next two days exploring this fabulous area. Dominated by the Mara River, with its crocs and hippos, this area is great for lion prides as well as elephant, cheetah, leopard and big herds of buffalo

DAY 8

Plenty of time for a final morning's game drive before you depart camp and from the airstrip take the scheduled light aircraft flight back to Arusha and Kilimanjaro.

You are likely to spot a great variety of wildlife including cheetah, wildebeest, bat-eared fox, black rhino, Maasai giraffe, lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, zebra and the rare Colobus monkey.
