Best time to travel to Africa to view wildlife?
In Southern Africa, the best wildlife viewing is during the dry season from May through October with July, August, and September being the most desirable months because of climate and temperature.
East Africa has a more temperate climate except for the long rains in April and May when many of the safari camps close down. The migration can be seen in southern Serengeti in Tanzania from November thru March. It then moves north via the western corridor and can be seen in northern Serengeti and the Maasai Mara in Kenya from July thru October.
How do I book a safari?
Planning a safari with us is a personal experience we hope clients will also enjoy. The first step is to have a phone conversation or a meeting in person to discuss your plans. We begin by getting the basic information such as number, age and profile of the travelers, an idea of your budget, and if you have any specific destinations or interests in mind. We will then work with you closely to design an itinerary that suits your needs.
We would encourage a lead-time of 6 to 12 months to plan that perfect trip. The bigger the group and the busier time of travel (Jun-Oct or Christmas), the longer the planning lead-time should be.
How much does it cost to go on safari with A2A?
The safaris we organize can range in cost from about $3,000 per person to over $10,000 per person for a week-long trip. These are all private safaris customized to a client's wishes. We do not offer scheduled group trips but on occasion, we would offer uniquely themed guided exploration trips.
Due to the remoteness in location, the intimate size of the camps (typically 10 rooms or less), and the fully guided nature of safari activities, the nightly rates on safari are quoted on a fully inclusive basis. The nightly rates can be as low as $300 to as high as $2,000 per person per night for the most exclusive camps. The usual variables of seasonality, children's age, and supplementary rates for solo travelers would also affect costs.
